When contemplating methods to promote environmental friendliness, recycling is often the initial solution that comes to mind. Nonetheless, there are numerous measures we can adopt prior to recycling in order to reduce our environmental footprint.
A notable aspect of vaping involves reusing devices. If you have completed your vaping journey and no longer need your device, or if you have upgraded to a device that better aligns with your requirements, it is crucial not to simply dispose of your original device!
If the device is functioning properly and has been thoroughly cleaned, the best option is to give it to someone you’re acquainted with who can make good use of it. Moreover, this provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce a less harmful alternative to someone in your circle.

Choosing more sustainable vapes
The use of disposable devices has experienced a significant increase in popularity over the past two years. Although they may be an excellent choice for new vapers and some other situations, it cannot be denied that disposable vapes generate waste.
If you have had success with disposable vapes, we are not making a judgment call, but it is worth seriously considering switching to a more sustainable device. Even an option as simple as a pre-filled pod system generates less waste than a completely disposable device.
You can choose refillable devices that generate significantly less waste than other categories, as only the coil needs to be disposed of, which corresponds to a small amount of material every 1-2 weeks. In addition, the e-liquid bottles used are much easier to recycle than a disposable device and tend to last longer on average.

Prolong the life of your vape
By taking simple steps to extend the lifespan of your vaping device, you can save money and minimize your environmental footprint. It’s common sense, but the less frequently you need to replace your device, the better for everyone involved.
For those using refillable devices, it’s important to regularly clean the tank/pod and connectors to prevent the accumulation of debris that could potentially harm the device. Moreover, using high-quality charging cables, preferably the one provided with the device, ensures that your battery can utilize the maximum number of charge cycles.
If you’re willing to go the extra mile, consider opting for e-liquids with reduced sweetener content. Excessive sweetener levels in e-liquids can lead to faster coil burnout, resulting in more waste.

Recycle
When a vape is no longer usable, it is recommended to recycle as many components as possible.
Vape components that have encountered e-liquid, such as tanks, must be thoroughly cleaned before being recycled, as nicotine in e-liquid is considered a contaminant. Similarly, e-liquid bottles must be thoroughly cleaned before being recycled.
Most disposable devices are currently not recyclable, although this is gradually changing. If the disposable device can be recycled, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully to ensure proper disposal.
When disposing of external batteries or devices with internal batteries, it is advisable to consult local guidelines, as regulations can vary significantly depending on the region.
